Having tested all of the major brand of Car Parking Sensor and Reverse Sensor systems available here are the results.

JML Parking Sensor. Cheap and nasty and at £29 you get what you pay for with two sensor pads. Powered by battery or from the cigarette lighter/auxiliary socket. It warns you by progressively louder beeps as you reverse.

Quanan Q2030S now at around £199 which has 3 sensors and also includes a display of sorts of the car showing which sensor is picking up an object. They don't pick up until the object is 1.5 meters from the car.

Meta Targa SR2, which fits to your rear numberplate so the car bumper does not have to be drilled, nor does the Parking Dynamics PD1. This costs £199 from Halfords, but does not include a visual display.

Next, also scoring four stars, the Steelmate PTS 200N2 at £129.99 has the good idea of a back to front display that the driver can see in his rear view mirror. Price does not includes installation by Halfords, so more than it first looks.

Sempal Mobiltron Supa is a low level camera with a built in monitor into a add-on rear view mirror. Auto Express found it provided an excellent colour picture, but the wide angle made distances difficult to judge. Price £399.

Sempal Parking Sensors. Four bumper sensors and beeper. Price £123. Did not detect the concrete bollard or cycle as well as some of the others did in Auto Express tests.

Cobra Parkmaster is a four sensor and alert system. This parking system did not detect the cycle very well in the Auto Express tests. Price £109.

Valeo Beep & Park has four sensors and a display screen. This sensor system picked up the car very well, but not the bollard or cycle until approx 500mm away. Price £150.

Carpoint Parking Sensors has four large sensors and a monitor display that it not so attractive. Did not detect the cycle until it almost hit it. Price £103.

Meta ActivePark 4 has four sensors and a buzzer alert system. This worked very well in the Auto Express tests, but was found harder to install. Price £99.

Poron Micro 5S scored just two points in the Auto Express tests. This parking sensor has four sensors and a voice activated count-down system, the voice has an American accent. This was very sensitive for large objects (4 metres) and it also failed to see the cycle. Price £139

Cobra ParkMaster 0166 is priced at £170 and is a pretty robust system.

Another parking sensor product which uses the coloured light system as well as audible 'beeps' was originally designed for reversing caravans but now fits all cars and vehicles. It is made by Brigade Electronics, and is called the 'Backscan RI-OS', costs around £217 installed and worked pretty average.

New 'wireless' parking sensors which tale their current from the car's 12v supply but tranmist 'wirelessly' to a receiver plugges into the 12v accessory socket are BS-340 Back-Up Sensor £107
